If you choose the special offer of 2 additional months of coverage, those months are added to the end of your first term at no charge.

8What's not covered

In addition to the item-specific exclusions above, this agreement does not cover:

  • Conditions that existed before coverage began, or that a reasonable inspection would have found.
  • Failures caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, improper installation or prior repairs.
  • Damage from fire, flood, freezing, lightning, storms, earthquakes, pests, accidents or power surges.
  • Secondary or consequential damage, including water damage, mold, food spoilage and loss of use.
  • Cosmetic defects or parts that do not affect how an item works.
  • Items covered by a manufacturer's warranty, service agreement or insurance.
  • Commercial-grade equipment or property used for business purposes.
  • Repairs done by anyone other than a Paramount technician, unless we approved them in advance.
  • Recalls, manufacturer defects, removal of hazardous materials, and costs to meet new codes or laws.

This agreement is not homeowners insurance. It does not cover sudden or accidental damage to your home or belongings.

9Requesting service

  1. Call 1 (855) 444-9411, any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as soon as you notice a problem and before the term ends.
  2. We will contact you to schedule a visit, normally within 24 to 48 hours.
  3. A licensed Paramount technician will diagnose the problem and, if covered, complete the repair or recommend a replacement.
  4. You pay the Service Call Fee when the technician arrives.

Emergencies: we give priority to failures that cause no heat in cold weather, no A/C in extreme heat, no hot water, or a plumbing leak causing active damage, and we will try to dispatch the same day.

Covered repairs are guaranteed for 90 days for parts and 30 days for labor.

10Repair or replace

We decide whether to repair or replace a Covered Item. When we replace an item, we will provide one of similar features, capacity and efficiency, though not necessarily the same brand, color or dimensions. Instead of a replacement, we may offer a cash payment, which will not exceed the depreciated value of the item being replaced. You must accept a cash offer within 60 days.

We may use new or refurbished parts of equal quality. If parts are delayed or unavailable, we are not responsible for the delay, and we may offer a cash payment instead.

11Your responsibilities

  • Maintain Covered Items as the manufacturer recommends, including changing filters and cleaning coils.
  • Give our technician safe, clear access to the Covered Item and an adult 18 or older present at the visit.
  • Pay the plan price and Service Call Fee when due.
  • Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, such as shutting off water to a leak.

12Renewal & transfer

Annual plans renew automatically for another term at the regular annual price shown in Section 3 (or the then-current price) unless you tell us otherwise. We will notify you at least 30 days before renewal, including any price change. We may decline to renew for any lawful reason with 30 days' notice.

If you sell the Covered Property, you may transfer the remaining coverage to the new owner by calling us with their name and closing date. There is a $75 transfer fee.

13Cancellation

  • Within 30 days: you may cancel for a full refund if no service has been requested.
  • After 30 days: you may cancel at any time by calling 1 (855) 444-9411. We will refund the unused portion of an annual plan, minus the cost of any services we have paid and a $75 administrative fee, where state law allows. Monthly plans stop at the end of the current billing month.
  • By us: we may cancel for non-payment, fraud or misrepresentation, by giving written notice as required by law, and will refund any unearned amount.

14Limitation of liability

Our liability under this agreement is limited to the cost of repairing or replacing Covered Items, up to the limits in Section 5. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including property damage, personal injury or loss of use, except where the law does not allow this limitation.

15Disputes

If you have a concern, call us first and we will work to resolve it. If we can't resolve it, either party may bring a claim in small claims court, or the dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its consumer rules, where state law allows. You and we each give up the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action. You may opt out of arbitration by notifying us in writing within 30 days of purchase.

16General terms

  • This agreement, your Declarations Page and any state provisions are the entire agreement between you and us.
  • If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • We may make changes only with written notice to you before your next term.
  • We collect and use your information as described in our Privacy Policy and only to provide service under this agreement.

17State provisions

Some states regulate home service agreements. Where this agreement conflicts with the law of the state where the Covered Property is located, the state's law controls, and any state-specific provisions provided with your Declarations Page apply.
